On December 2, 1977, Dottie married her soulmate and best friend, Hershel Collins, who survives. In 2011, after almost 40 years of employment, she retired from the McDonalds Corporation and will be fondly remembered by many as “Miss Dottie”.
As a young adult, Dottie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was an active member of North Jackson Baptist Church where she sang in the senior adult choir and assisted in teaching her Sunday School class.
Along with her husband, she is survived by a sister, Starla Kizer (Danny); a brother, John Little (Susan); several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Murdock.
Visitation will be held at North Jackson Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 5, from 12:00-2:00 with the service following at 2:00. Pastor Robert “Opie” Dodrill will officiate. George Smith and Sons North is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to North Jackson Baptist Church.
