There will be no visitation, and graveside services will be held at Ridgecrest Cemetery on Friday, February 27 at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Jathaniel Cavitt. George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel are in charge of arrangements.
Eleanor was a First Lieutenant in the United States Army, where she served as a nurse in World War II in both England and Germany. She came to Jackson in 1946 with her husband Thurman, as he accepted a job coaching all sports at North Side High School, and where he later became principal. She worked as a registered nurse with Jackson Madison County Health Department, and retired in 1973.
Surviving are son Johnny (Ruth) of Jackson; daughter Cindy Medlin of Collierville, granddaughters Marcy (Brad) Moon, Jennifer (Jathaniel) Cavitt, and Julie (Jason) Crenshaw. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
