

Dr. Frederick Daily Birmingham passed away during the evening of July 28, 2011 in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born September 10, 1931 in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Liberty Weir Birmingham Jr. and Kathryn Tiffany Birmingham. Fred was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving for 28 years and retired as a Colonel. When Fred retired from the Air Force he returned to Jackson and had a periodontal dental practice from 1980 to 1998. He was a member of First Baptist Church since early childhood.
Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jo Ann Mooney Birmingham and their four children, Kathryn Page Birmingham of St. Helens, Oregon, Cynthia Lynn Smith (Dickie) of Collierville, Tennessee, Frederick Weir Birmingham (Suzanne) and Joseph Conrad Birmingham both of Jackson Tennessee. He is survived by seven grandchildren: Russell Skye Birmingham, Jenny Marie Birmingham, Emily Anne Birmingham, Frederick John Birmingham, Tiffany Page Smith, Michael Birmingham and Samantha Birmingham. He was the beloved Uncle Fred, family patriarch to numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Liberty Weir Birmingham III, Russell Tiffany Birmingham, Mary Maude Nichols, and Kay Gallagher.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, July 31 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the George A. Smith and Sons, North Chapel Smith. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, at 1:00 PM at George A. Smith and Sons, North Chapel followed by burial at the Denmark Presbyterian Cemetery in Denmark, Tennessee. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to First Baptist Church or the Jackson Humane Society or charity of choice.
