

He was born on May 3, 1946 to the late Harry E. Lane, Sr. and Jane Lane. He was a graduate of Jackson High School in the Class of 1964 and Lambuth College in the Class of 1968. He served his country in the United States Air Force until 1973 where he and the family were stationed at Elgin Air Force Base near Fort Walton Beach, FL. After the war, the family moved back to Jackson where he worked for Rockwell Porter Cable but later went to work for the State of Tennessee Department of Children’s Services as a Youth Probation Counselor for 25 years.
He was an avid golfer, golfing for many years at Jackson Country Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Rebecca Anna Lane.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Lane; son, Harry E. Lane III (Alison); grandchildren, Harper Lane, Liza Deverell, and Ayden Graves; sister, Kay Lane Brown (Robert); sister-in-law, Susan Sigman (Bob); two nieces and four nephews; and many cousins.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022 in Disciple Hall of First United Methodist Church. The memorial service will follow at 3:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to First United Methodist Church, National Parkinson’s Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
Bubba was an organ and tissue donor in hopes of bettering the lives of those living with Parkinson’s Disease.
