

Jim Fishel was a great, big bear of a man, with a deep voice and chuckle that would brighten your day and make you smile. He was known for having a kind word for everyone, and sought meaningful connections with his friends and loved ones. He spoke with each of his children daily and leaves a deep legacy of love for family with them and his grandchildren.
Mr. Fishel was born on October 9, 1935 in Akron, Ohio. Raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Jim and his wife Jo (married 55 years) raised their family in South Fulton, TN. Jim spent 42 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Akron, OH and Union City, TN, ending his career there as manager of purchasing.
A proud Ohioan, Jim and his family were avid Ohio State fans and always cheered on the Buckeyes deep in SEC territory. You could count on him to have the game on every Saturday, with many calls with his sons discussing their performance. He was also an active member of Northside Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Fishel, and his brother, William “Mel” Fishel.
He is survived by two sons, Eric Fishel (Camielle) of Memphis, TN; Jimmy Fishel (Lori Nelson) of Jackson, TN, a daughter, Sally McCormack (Clay) of Collierville, TN; seven grandchildren, Hailey Fishel, Sophie McCormack, Cameryn Fishel, Luke McCormack (Kelly), Matt McCormack, Kendall Nelson, and Chase Nelson.
Funeral services for Mr. Fishel will be held at Northside Church in Jackson,TN on Monday, October 4th with visitation at 11 a.m. and services at 12 p.m. Burial will follow the services at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN. The family requests that guests attending wear a mask, practice adequate social distancing, and refrain from all physical contact
