

Mark was born on May 1, 1955 to Joann Johnson Ragan and James O. Ragan of Jackson, TN. Mark was raised in the Madison Hall Community where he was active in the Boy Scouts and was a member of Bemis United Methodist Church. He attended South Side High School.
Some of his most memorable adventures were the times he spent working on a riverboat on the Mississippi River. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish anytime the weather allowed. Mark liked restoring antiques, woodworking and was an avid reader with a wide range of interests.
Mark had a heart for helping others in need and was an active volunteer with the Room in the Inn at his church. In recent years, he enjoyed attending University of Memphis football games with his nephews. Mark will be remembered as the "Ragan family historian", as he loved sharing the history and stories of the Ragan family.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, James O. Ragan
He is survived by his mother, Joann Ragan Longmire and sisters Betty Siano (Jim), Janet Snow (Sidney), Laura Mosier (Tony), and Sara Thompson (Harley). He also leaves James Wells (Shanna), aunts, Sue Roark and Helen Johnson, 12 nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 1-2 pm at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Memorial services will follow at 2 pm. He will be buried at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Covid safety measures will be followed.
