He leaves two daughters and two sons-in-law, Connie and Joe Holcomb, and Lori and Andy Bucher; two grandsons, Brian Bucher and Andrew Bucher (fiancée, Megan Florence); and one great-grandson, Westley Bucher. He also leaves a sister, Clara Mize and a brother, Fred Matlock and his wife Joyce, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Exie Matlock, and brother, Harold Matlock.
He served in the U.S. Army, and retired from United Cities Gas, formerly Southern Gas after 40 years.
The visitation for Mr. Matlock will be held on Thursday, November 18th from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel, followed by a 12 p.m. graveside service, conducted by Clyde Anthony McAlexander, nephew, at Highland Memorial Gardens.
