She was born on June 12, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late William Henry and Sophia Amelia Biemiller Dietz. She was member of the League of Women Voters, the Mutual Women's Club, and the Shakespeare Club. She was retired from the Jackson-Madison County Library as a Circulation Librarian. She was also an active member of First United Methodist Church.
Joan was preceded in death by her husbnd, Dr. Andrew R. Eichoff, Sr. and her son, Andy Eickhoff, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Jordan Eickhoff; daughter-in-law, Amy Eickhoff Groff; grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Andy Nicholson (Miranda), Amanda Eickhoff, and Audra Eickhoff; great grandchildren, Cody Jackson, Grayson Burton, Ellie Adler Smith, and Tucker Nicholson.
The family will receive friends and loved ones beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2018 at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
The memorial service is to be conducted on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Sky McCracken and Rev. Lisa Harper of First United Methodist Church officiating.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that memorials in Joan's memory be directed to Companion Pet Rescue of West Tennessee or Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, TN.
