

Funeral services for Mr. Collins will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 1 p.m., at Maple Springs Baptist Church, with Bro. Steve McKown officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Collins was a 1970 graduate of South Side High School, served past terms on the Jackson-Madison County Parks and Recreation Board as well as on the Tennessee Co-Op Board of Directors. He was a deacon at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Medon, TN and served in several positions in service to his Lord. Dennis was a strong land conservationist and farmed in and around the Denmark Community with Jared King and the late James Fletcher for 46 years. Dennis was a Madison County Volunteer Fireman for fire station 8 for 34 years and a past article member of Sons of the Confederacy, Britton Lane/Denmark.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becky) Tyson Collins; daughter, Amy Collins Overton; four grandchildren, Jordan, Brayden, Oakley, and Collins; two sisters, Hope Collins Webb (Richard “Dick”) and Sandra Collins Patrick (Mike); one brother, Travis Collins (Karen); nieces and nephews, Angie Webb Bumpus, Andrew Webb, Robert Tyson, Jr., Adam Patrick, Derek Patrick, Catherin Tyson DaCosta, Christine Tyson Mullins, Kristen Collins, and Kourtney Leech. He also leaves behind a host of friends and church family.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday evening, January 15, 2015 from 4-8 p.m., in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, and again on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 12 Noon until the funeral hour at 1 p.m., at Maple Springs Baptist Church.
