Mr. Tims was born in Crockett County, TN on October 7, 1925. He was a member of VFW Post 1848, loved NASCAR, Cardinals Baseball, and going to watch his grandson play baseball. He loved growing his tomato and pepper plants and enjoyed giving them away. He retired after 40 years as a maintenance worker for Citiplate and spent the last 20 years, helping his son at his business, Reliable Pallet Source.

He fought in the Battle of Okinawa, “On Easter Sunday Morning,” he would say as he infamously told the story. He was a notorious story teller and loved to share his life experiences with anyone who would listen.
