

Margie Ferguson, age 90 of Bemis, passed away at her daughter’s home in Powell on December 3, 2015, making Heaven a brighter place now joining several loved ones. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bemis in Jackson, TN. She worked at the Bemis Cotton Mill until closure of the plant in 1989. Margie enjoyed working in her yard and did her own mowing until she was 80. She kept her yard immaculate and could grow all types of beautiful flowers. She loved being with her family and lovingly raised two children as a single parent when times were difficult. She also enjoyed talking on the phone with her friends. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Virble Gauldin; son, Larry Barnette; sister, Jo Crouch; father of her children, James L. Barnette; many other relatives and close friends.

Daughter: Linda Barnette Rettberg and husband Bob
Sister: Delilah Briley of Jackson
Grandchildren: Melissa Williford and husband Bill of Powell
Bryan Moore and wife Courtnie of Knoxville
Great grandchildren: Haley Moore, Caleb Williford, Maddie Moore, Billy Williford, and Jeff Williford
Special nieces and nephews and numerous other family members and friends
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Home and Hospice Care, to Sherry Carter of Jackson for 4 years of loyal service and Wendy Ball for the last several months assisting with her care; also a special thank you to Bob’s sons Adam, Matt, and Jason for their visits and kindness shown to Margie.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 6th from 5-7 P.M. at George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in South Jackson, TN. Funeral service will follow with Dr. Bill Sims officiating. Graveside service will be held Monday, December 7th at 11:00 A.M. at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson.
