

A worship service to celebrate the life of Marty Marshall will be held Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiated by Terry Hunley, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, May 29th from 4-8 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian. You are welcome to bring a photo to share.
Marion “Marty” Howard Marshall, age 72, died May 25, 2010 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He was born Oct 17, 1937 in Lima, Ohio, son of Harry L. and Melba Hardin Marshall. He graduated from Shawnee High School, Lima and The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, in chemical engineering. He spent many years in the Army on active and reserve duty in the US and Germany. His service included the Corps of Engineers, Airborne, Ranger and Special Forces training. He started his professional career with Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio, and later assisted in the start up of the Pringles plant in Jackson, TN, in 1970. He was involved in many religious, Young Life, civic, educational, and business activities in the Jackson, TN area. He, Lynne, and family had been extensive world travelers for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lynne, daughter Melba and husband Andy Lingenfelter and 3 children of Wilmington, NC, twin sons Joe of Dallas, TX, and Jeff with wife Susana and 3 children of Perkasie, PA, and a brother Gerald “Jerry” of Anderson, IN. He was preceded in death by daughter Judee in 1983, brothers Joe in 1965, and Ramon in 1986.
