Martha Frances Smythe

Mrs. Martha Smythe, age 90 of Jackson died at home on June 3, 2011. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday June 9, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, with burial to follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Pastor Gary Morse will officiate the Service.

She was the wife of Jack Smythe (deceased) for 62 years. They have four children, Kelly Smythe of Pensacola, Fl, Jackie Smythe (Hazel) of Jackson, TN, Mary Alice Dickson (Jim) of Murfreesboro, TN, and Gary Smythe who predeceased her. There are four grandchildren, Charles Smythe (Sandra), Tony Smythe (Christie), Michelle Price (Adam), and Michael Dickson (Amanda); and two great grandchildren, Kelly and Candace Smythe.

Martha was born in Jackson, TN and lived there her entire life. She was active with the Miss Tennessee pageant with her husband Jack and had attended every pageant from 1953-2009, 56 years, not missing one night. She was member of Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church for 66 years.

A Visitation with the family will be held in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons on Thursday June 9, 2011 from 11 a.m. until Service time at 1 p.m

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church, 160 Campbell St., Jackson, TN, 38301 or Hollywood Cemetery Association Perpetual Care Fund, P.O. Box 3975, Jackson, TN 38303.
