Pete was born on December 23, 1939, in Jackson, Tennessee. He was a devoted husband to Harriett Jane Summer Warren and a loving father to Donna, Tammy, and Warren. Pete was also a cherished grandfather to Justin and a dear brother to Wonnell Meals, Howard Warren and Pat Phillips.
He worshipped at Parkburg Baptist Church and found solace in his faith. Pete's commitment to his family, friends and community was evident in all aspects of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Harriett Jane Warren; his daughter, Donna Warren; his daughter, Tammy Wendel; his son, Warren Warren and wife Tabitha; his grandson, Justin McBroom and wife, Brittany; his sister Pat Phillips; and his sister, Wonnell Meals.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Warren; his sister in law, Rosa; his brother-in-law, Delton Meals; and his brother in law, Tommy Phillips.
Pete spent 32 years of his life at Jackson Energy Authority, where he made a lasting impact. He enjoyed attending antique car shows with his son and entering competitions with his 1966 Chevrolet C-10. He was known for his social nature and loved spending time with friends. He was a wonderful father, devoted husband and was always there for his family and friends. He and my mom spent their entire lives together - really together - because they were inseparable throughout their 65-year marriage. He was a skilled woodworker and loved taking on new projects in his spare time, and his favorite one, by far, was the cabin he built from the ground up on the bank of a winding creek on their property. So many precious memories of him sitting in his favorite chair on the porch with a smile on his face and his foot propped on the porch post. He loved life and fought a long, painful battle to stay with us as long as he possibly could. It's hard to imagine a world without him in it, but he has left an indelible mark on all of us.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at George A. Smith & Sons - South Chapel, located at 1544 South Highland Avenue, Jackson, Tennessee 38301. The visitation will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral service.
Pete will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will be forever cherished by his family and friends.
