Norma Jean Reese

Funeral services for Norma Jean Reese will be on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home with Josh Cook officating. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Mrs. Reese died on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Norma was born in Hickman County, TN, the daughter of the late Douglas and Alma Ledbetter Coble.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Climer.

She was retired, and formerly worked for the state highway department in Nashville and in the office of the Lieutenant Governor as secretary. She was a member of the North Jackson Church of Christ. She enjoyed working with and for animals and their welfare.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, George Reese of Jackson; and her brother-in-law and sister-in law, Charles and Carolyn Reese of Jackson; her brother-in-law, Ronnie Hawkins, Sr.; four neices, Kim Climer of Nashville, Cathy Reese of Jonesboro, AR, Laura Cearley of Jackson, and Julie Reese of Jackson; two nephews, Gary Roseti of Nashville, and Ron Hawkins, Jr. of Brentwood, TN; three great neices, Selah Winn and Lilah McGregor, both of Jonesboro, AR, and Lindsey Freifey of Brentwood, TN; four great nephews, Geremy Roseti of Nashville, and Adam, Caleb, and Jacob Hawkins of Brentwood, TN; and two great great neices and one great great nephew.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Jackson-Madison County Humane Society, or to the church or charity of the donor's choice.

The family will be receiving family and friends on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, (731) 427-5555.
