Bob was born on July 7, 1946 in Jackson, TN to the late Robert B. Dew, Sr. and Elise Eaves Dew Rollins. After losing his father when he was only 7 months old, he and his mother moved into Westwood Gardens. He attended West Jackson Elementary School, Jackson Junior High School and Jackson High School, graduating in the class of 1964. After high school he attended Union University for a short time before he was drafted for the Vietnam War. Bob later began a successful career as a self-employed painter and wallpaper hanger. People all over called on Bob to work in their homes and he gained a reputation of being meticulous with his work, which was much appreciated by his many clients over the years.
Bob loved all things from the 50’s and 60’s. From the music, to the toys, to the furniture and glassware, he always loved this era of time. He also enjoyed going to yard sales and estate sales. Most of all, he loved cooking and spending time with his family and friends
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his stepfather, Nelson Rollins.
He is survived by his sister, Beth Paschall of Jackson and her children, Robert and Maribeth Paschall; his life partner, Wanda Reams of Jackson and her daughter, Christy Raab, and her grandchildren, Micah and Kylee; his two stepsisters, Donna Short (Kenneth) of Jackson and Teresa Ellington (James) of Jackson; and two first cousins who were like brothers to him, William Richards and Charles Richards.
Funeral services for Bob will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with James Ellington officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m., two hours prior to the funeral service.
