Roy Allen Peddy

A memorial service for Mr. Peddy will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

He was born on June 14, 1937 in Henderson, TN to the late Lillian Robbins Peddy and James Thomas Peddy, Sr. He grew up in the Oak Grove Community of Chester County where he was a member of the Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1955 and attended Memphis State University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He worked for over 30 years in heavy equipment sales in West Tennessee and West Kentucky, serving several Memphis construction equipment firms. At the time of his death, he was owner and operator of RAP Trailer and Container Rental and Sales. He had been a resident of Jackson since 1966.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha Bennett Peddy; nieces, Ann Cullen (Dave) and Lee Owenby (Eric); his nephew, John Peddy; his sister-in-law, Vaneda Sinclair all of Springville, TN; cousin, Mark Peddy (Starla) of Henderson, TN; number of great nieces, great nephews and additional cousins; his Business Associate, Bonnie Holmes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers J.T. Peddy, Jr. and William Peddy; his sister, Doris Peddy.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 4-6 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, and will resume on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church or to the charity of the donor's choice .
