Shirley Faye Harvey

Mrs. Shirley Faye Singleton Harvey, age 80 of Jackson, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning, December 20, 2015 with her children by her side at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville, TN.

Shirley was born on November 19, 1935 in the Blue Goose community of Henderson County, TN to the late Youther Richard and Frances Gertrude Singleton. She was a 1954 graduate of North Side High School. She was a superintendent secretary for State Farm Insurance Company until her retirement in 1998. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and then Oaklawn Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to be around her family.

Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by her husband, Barbour Harvey and son, Fabian Harvey.

She is survived by her children, Sherry Killough (Tommy) of Germantown, TN, Garry Harvey (Lynn) of Jackson, TN, Shelby Dickerson (Archie) of Jackson, TN, Connie Barton (Carl) of Collierville, TN, and Marty Harvey (Allison) of Jackson, TN; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

She is also survived by sisters, Virginia Singleton of Jackson, Henriella Diggs of Pekin, IL, Norma Cox of Jackson, Nancy McKenzie of Jackson; and brother, Richard Singleton of Decaturville, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel with interment to follow in Nebo Cemetery in Henderson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, beginning at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the service.
