She was born on March 22, 1947 in Cedar Grove, TN to the late James R. and Mildred Howse Vann.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Howse Vann; her father, James R. Vann; and her stepmother, Helen Vann.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, George Johnson of Jackson; her daughters Angie Ballard (Jeremy) and Tara Neely (Robin) of Lexington; her son Jeff Johnson (Nancy) of Jackson; her grandchildren Chloe Johnson, Ashlan Neely, Ty Wolfe, Aidan Neely, and Callie Wolfe; and her sister Barbara Boren (Larry) of Jackson.
Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 1 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel with Ray Hawk officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, November 14, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel.
