Countless hours during my college days were spent in the company of Susan - pondering life, harmonizing a familiar song, and just enjoying the day.   Upon many occasions, I can remember her "shooing" us out of her dorm room as her room seemed to be the gathering place.  I loved singing with her as her talent always made everyone around her  better singers.  Her family was so important to her and  I was lucky enough to have visited her mom and dad repeatedly throughout our college years.  Gone too soon.

Mother reminded of the many times Susan would come over to play school teacher!  She would “teach” as my brothers and I sat in old school desks on the carport.  
When I visit Jackson and walk by the house she lived in on Lilac, I still call it the Crews house!  
Also, many fond band memories at Tigrett and JCM !
May the Lord comfort you all during the coming days.

Susan and I attended Jr. High and JCM together.   All of us in the bands shared a sort of brotherhood/sisterhood due to all of the hours we spent practicing, travelling, performing, and competing together. Even after years away, everyone in that group is still like family to me, so I'm very saddened to hear she is no longer with us.  Susan was a great friend and truly wonderful young lady. Though i have not seen her in several years, I have no doubt she blessed all of those who were near her.  My prayers go out to her family and those of us who knew her.  While we mourn our loss, let's also remember she is in heaven with God now, so we can rejoice in her reward as well. God bless you all!

Stan and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. She wouldn't have gone on if it wasn't needed. A new birthday for her. A true class person in all ways. I will miss her and remember her in my life. Thank you. 

My sincerest condolences to Stan, Mrs. Crews, and the entire family on Susan's passing.  While we had only reconnected online in the last few years, my time at Lambuth and as a  Phi Mu are full of  good memories of Susan.  I pray that God will bring you all some peace during this difficult time.  

I worked with Susan at the law office in Jackson in the mid-80's. She had just finished school at Lambuth. We had many good times at work and getting together after work. I am truly shocked at her passing, I just thought she would be around forever. I am so happy that she found such a wonderful person as Stan to share her life. She will be missed by many.

I wish that I was able to take some of your pain over losing Susan so soon. Let me share some memories of her. I knew Susan in high school, being in several classes together. She was in All-West and All-State bands, while I was in the choirs. We got into trouble at several hotels for being loud! I watched her play bells, marimba, xylophone, and other percussion mallet instruments. With awe. Together, she and I played keyboards in the school's jazz band. She was very accomplished at sight reading. We were in the top English class, along with Jane Blass, who passed on recently. The three of us created a "secret" signal during English that signified boredom. It was putting a pencil horizontally sticking out from the ends of our noses. We were mildly chastised by the teacher. During our graduation ceremony, we three sat fairly close. I put my diploma on the end of my nose, and both Susan and Jane replied in kind. It was the only time I cried that day. Susan and I were close, even dating the same guy, Lorin Wingate from Covington TN. At different times, fortunately. We stayed in touch over the years. I was awful at it, while Susan doggedly kept finding me via Facebook and my sister, Libby Brown, whom Susan befriended. As I write this, my body feels gut-punched at knowing Susan's light is gone from our world. Soon (I hope soon) I'll begin to be happy for Susan, that she is now enveloped in joy and serenity. When you can feel peace, I wish it for you with all my heart.  Cindy

Stan and family, so very sorry for the loss of Susan.  I worked with Susan at AMCORE.  She taught me so much that has remained with me today.  Susan was a great woman and she will be missed by many.   May God bring you peace and comfort during this sad time.  
  

I am so sorry to hear this . Sue was a great Lady. I always enjoyed talking with her at the Field Trials we crossed paths at. She will be missed. No words can be expressed to say how sad we are with such news. Stan, our hearts and prayers are with you my friend.

Stan and family, I am so sad to hear of Susan's passing.  I worked with Susan at Amcore.  She had a tough job keeping us Commercial lenders in line with our closings.  I developed a quick respect for her and I'd like to think it was mutual.  We trusted each other's judgement and word, sadly rare in many work environments today.  I wish you peace in her absence. 

Susan was the heart and soul of the National Field Trial,  we shall miss her hospitality and keeping everyone on the dog wagon supplied with drinks and Cookies.   Met Susan when she came to Ohio to the Quail Classics .  She will be missed.  Sincere sympathy to Stan and the Nobel Family. 

My dear friend Susan, I cannot believe you are gone. Susan and I worked together for many years between Wisconsin and Illinois and she made those days nothing but hysterical and memorable for me. When I remember some of the conversations we had it continues to make me smile. So Susan yes, Maureen did finally graduate from Jr. High and I'm still honored to have given you the biggest salary increase you ever received.  We shared a birthday and I will always continue to be 2 years older my friend. Much love to Stan and her lovely mom and rest of the family. I will treasure our memories and miss and love you always.

I worked with Sue many moons ago at first star bank, she always put a smile on my face no matter what was going on in my life. I love you susan may you Rest In Peace 💕💕💕💕

So sorry for your loss. I remember attending a few Irish Setter field trials at both Des Plaines and Paw Paw IL with the Ruff and Noble folks and Jim Batson back between 1996 and 2000.  Everyone was so nice and had so much fun with our dogs.   There was some goofy looking travelling 'trophy' that  Mr. Batson received that made us all laugh so hard.  Those were some good times.  I almost wished I had an Irish Setter instead of a GSP.   I am glad to have known Susan and Stan over the years.  Hugs to everyone as we celebrate Susan's life along with being sad at her loss. Such a beautiful soul.  Susan will be missed by so many, none more than me.

I knew Susan from Calvary Baptist Church and JCM. We had so much fun on choir tours and remember how funny and mischievous she was. I recall one instance, sneaking into Highland Park through an opening in the fence which separated her house (on Lambuth) from the park. Still brings a smile. And of course, like many, lost touch over the years and reconnected via social media. Susan, you will always be remembered and cherished. Deepest condolences and prayers for Stan, Mom, and the many others who love you and remember you so fondly. 

How I wish I could find a photo from many years ago. Summer church camps over the years, the 1 year I was in JMC Band….so many fun times with this amazing, funny, witty girl. You couldn’t help but like Susan and being around her. I am heartbroken to learn of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Stan and family. 

I remember Susan so well from our singing group at Lambuth College. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a good friend.
I had lost touch with her over the years after moving to Atlanta in the fall of 1982. We returned to the Nashville area in 2013 and we're so sorry we did not reestablish our friendship. I met Susan when I pledged Phi Mu at Lambuth. She was always such a fun person, a leader, and definitely full of mischief. Fond memories of her leading us in All-Sing. I was glad to have reconnected with her when she moved to middle Tennessee and saw her a few times for dinner, but I regret that it has been a few years. The world truly lost a bright light. Thinking of her family and so many folks that were impacted by her. 

The ComfortCare Women's Health family in Virginia is sending our prayers and sympathy to our President, Stephanie Crawford, and her family during this time of sadness and loss.  You are not far from our minds during this trying time.

The community has lost a bright light.  I am saddened to hear of Susan's sudden passing.  We met each other at West Jackson Baptist Church kindergarten and attended Lambuth College together.  I will cherish our friendship forever. Until we meet again my old friend......

I only knew Susan for the last few years, but I instantly liked her and looked forward to seeing her, laughing at the same things, and getting to know more about her. What a loss for all of her family, to lose her so early. Hugs and condolences to everyone. 

My memories of Susan are when she was very young. Full of  energy and life. 
As an infant,  I loved to hold her. I was 13 at the time. I think I loved holding her to much because she always liked to spit up on me... and with a smile, and a giggle. She lived a full life, very loved, and left good memories for everyone in her life.❤

I am so shocked to hear about Susan.  She was my hero on the JCM drum line and was always so nice to me even though I was one of those "little junior high kids".  You and your family will be remembered in my thoughts and prayers.  

I am devastated to hear about the loss of Susan, I met her at Lambuth College back in 1980 and we have had occasional contact over the years. I was looking for her address when I googled her and discovered this terrible news. I am just saddened beyond words. My deepest sympathy goes to Mrs. Crews and Stan, and all of her family and friends, I can't imagine how extremely difficult this must be. She was an amazing person and friend. I last saw her when she was visiting Phoenix and it was as if I saw her no more than a week prior. She was that kind of person that you connected with immediately and it was forever. I feel complete sadness, love to all.

I want to express my sympathy to Stan and family.  Susan took me under her wing during the First TN Capital Bank merger and taught me a lot about commercial lending.  She was a blessing to know and will be missed.  Prayers for the family during your time of mourning 

So very sad to hear of Momma’s passing.  We have very fond memories of countless Friday nights at Five Forks sitting with Stan, Mamma, and the rest of the Friday night “forkers”.  May our memories sustain us as we grieve and celebrate her life!  Thinking of you Stan, and sending you positive thoughts and peace!
