
Graveside services for Zelma M. Dickerson, 91, will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Highland Memorial Gardens in the mausoleum. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
Mrs. Dickerson died Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Maplewood Health Care in Jackson.
The daughter of the late Elsie Bruno and Walter Richardson, Zelma was the oldest of six sisters. Born in Elbridge, TN, she grew up in rural west Tennessee during the depression era. After WWII she married in 1947 and was a homemaker and true helpmate to her late husband, D.W. Dickerson, for fifty-five years. Also preceding her in death is four of her sisters: Jean, Betty, Elizabeth, and Shirley and her son-in-law, Larry Walden.
She is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Roy) Kelley of Henderson; Deborah (Mike) Tyler, Nancy Walden, Kathy (Jerry) Nelson, all of Jackson; a son, Paul (Debbie) Dickerson of Kentucky; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and her youngest sister, Beverly Bucerri of Illinois.
Following the service family and friends will gather at the home of Mike and Deborah Tyler.
In lieu of flowers, any memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
