Ahmad was born April 24th, 1925, in Shiraz, Iran. He attributed his academic success to his mother, Shams, who even though uneducated believed education was the key to success. He left Shiraz for Tehran to continue his education. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tehran. After receiving that degree, he decided to pursue his education in the United States. He attended Perkiomen School in PA to learn English for a year and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology from the university of Philadelphia, followed by his Doctorate in Pharmacology from the University of St. Louis. Upon graduation he was hired by Wyatt Laboratories International as their Middle East Sales Representative and moved back to Tehran, Iran.
While studying in the U.S. he fell in love and got engaged to Puerto Rican born Lourdes Vicente Amador. Due to his new job overseas, he was unable to come to the U.S. for a wedding ceremony. Since Lourdes was unable to leave the U.S. before marriage, the couple decided to marry by proxy and Lourdes then traveled to Istanbul, Turkey to meet her new husband for their 6-week honeymoon. Following their honeymoon, the couple resided in Tehran. They went on to have 5 children and sadly lost their youngest daughter, Heidi at a young age.
After leaving Wyatt Laboratories Ahmad started his own import company in Iran, PIL, representing ABBOTT Laboratories. He was very successful and was able to send all his children to the U.S. for their education. After 25 years in business, the Iranian revolution in 1979 forced him to leave Iran and his business. He fled to London, England where he resided for 30 years. He became involved with the stock and commodities markets and real estate ventures and went on to become financially successful again. He finally moved to U.S. and became a resident in 2005.
