PARKER - Alan Bruce Parker, 69, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 1, after a brief illness. Alan was born in Evanston, Illinois on September 24, 1945 and had lived in Jacksonville for many years. He was a Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a commercial/graphic designer for the Times Union for many years, was a published author (Daydream Believer), and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Alan was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed. Survivors include his daughter, Keri Pitts (Barry); and son Davin Parker (Amber); brother, Robert Parker (Carol); 6 grandchildren, one niece, and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. Parker will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Hobson Auditorium at First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve McCollum officiating.
