

Alexander Olmos, age 67, passed away on February 16, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on April 4, 1958, in El Monte, California to his loving parents, Isidoro and Margaret Olmos, who preceded him in death.
Alex was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. On April 2, 1985, he married the love of his life, Judy Leachman, beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned more than 40 years. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work, faith, and family.
He proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his distinguished military career, he served with Company B, 577th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, specializing in combat engineering, construction, and training. His dedication, discipline, and leadership reflected his deep commitment to service and to those who served alongside him.
Following his military retirement, Alex continued serving his community as a highly respected Civil Inspector in both Jacksonville and Orlando. His integrity, strong work ethic, and steady leadership left a lasting impression on colleagues and all who had the privilege of working with him.
Alex attended Nativity Catholic School and later earned his Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College. Born and raised Catholic, his faith remained a steady foundation throughout his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Judy; his four children, Kalani, Keawe, Alexis, and Lauren; and his seven cherished grandchildren, Kalia, Kamea, Jayden, Kaiona, Sebastian, Vesper, and Harlo. He is also survived by his siblings Tony, Gloria, Maggie, Sylvia, Rosalie, Marina, and Adrian.
Family meant everything to Alex. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories that will forever live in their hearts.
Alex had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He loved admiring classic cars and listening to music. He especially enjoyed cruising on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle alongside Judy and spending weekends camping by the river. He cherished traveling with his family and was blessed to visit Germany, France, Holland, Bavaria, and many places throughout the United States.
A man of culture and craftsmanship, Alex was a skilled artisan who handcrafted Hawaiian pahu, ipu heke, and makau, generously sharing his knowledge and talents to preserve these traditions for generations to come.
A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on March 2 at 10:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. A reception will follow the burial service at 5998 Lannie Rd Jax, FL 32218.
Alexander Olmos will be remembered for his incredible strength, craftsmanship, devotion to family, and unwavering love for those closest to him. His legacy of service, kindness, faith, and love will live on in the many lives he touched.
