We are with you in spirit celebrating Andy’s life. On many of our trips to Jacksonville to visit Tiffany and her family, we were fortunate enough to visit some with Andy. Especially the times we came down for Jump4Jack on many chilly January weekends. He was a joy to get to know and we share in your sorrow as you have had say goodbye….for now. Grateful for memories, a true gift from God.

Andy and I met in junior high and were always friends. Our real friendship began years later when we reconnected after Andy came back to town. We went to funerals, reunions, many lunches, met for drinks, even a party or two together.  Always there for each other during the good times and the tough times.  One thing never changed, his interest in what was going on in my life with my family, even when his health took a turn, he was always there! Andy's last few years were spent doing for others creating a not-for-profit that focused on making Christmas better for parents and their children. I have read many comments over the last few days about things Andy did for others and how much his friendship meant to so many.  I was proud to call him my friend and I will never forget the great times we had together! Sending love to Mary, Carla, Natalie, Caroline and the entire Rooks family!

What a blessing it was to know Andy.  I am grateful for the treasured friendship we had. 

Few things in life are more enjoyable than long-time, long-distance, and well-loved correspondence with a dear friend.  Andy had a sense of style in his writing, and sweet empathy about staying in touch.  Another classmate shared that his social media posts were well-written and author-like, and especially sentimental were those describing the love between him and his parents, and family.

Oh my … Deep belly laughs were countless and endless.  A saved poem he wrote me about being ‘rather meek on an eventful high school week’.  Boundless fun on the dance floor.  A sporty blue car with an ‘Ayatollah Assahola’ sticker.   ‘We are two wild and crazy guys’ silliness for years.  Adored shared stories over our fifty years of adventures. 

My deepest sympathy to Andy’s parents, siblings, family and friends.  He has left us all with sweet wonderful memories.

I remember Andy as a friend who always lifted my spirits.  He always made everyone around him feel happy and welcome. I cherish the memories of wonderful times I had with him in Junior and Senior High School.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family and many friends. 🙏

Andy was always "young at heart". You all know that. We became fast friends and I spent countless hours with the entire Rooks Family. I used to ride with Tim and Andy on the morning newspaper delivery route at 4 a.m. just because it was fun to be with them. We all worked hard back then, so it's no surprise that Andy worked hard to beat his nemesis. I'm grateful for the memories with all of you and especially his mom for all the Jeopardy answers.

I had the pleasure of meeting Andy (and his brother Tim) at Brew Barrell when I was 18.  Andy was such a good guy and I have many fond memories of him.   May he rest in peace and many prayers to his family and friends 🙏💛

What a guy!!!  Always smiling as if he were up to something  mysterious.  He was a star in high school, and also very brave when we dated.  He was always asking Wanna get married.  I will miss you Rooks, you are such a flirt...see you in the blink of an eye!

So sorry for your loss. Mary and Bev I remember from UCC. Swimmers we were. My parents Bobbie and Lamar Prevatt had Carl & Margaret as BFF. My heart is saddened by this loss.

The Rhino family is so sad to hear this news. The Rook family were wonderful wonderful friends to the Rhino’s continuing being through the 60s and 70s.! Randy Rhino

My sincere condolences to Andy’s family. A kind, memorable, lovable guy that I have known since high school but , knew him better later in life through friends. Godspeed Andy. 💕
