

Anne Mallinson Head passed away on July 14, 2015. She was born in Atlanta, GA on November 18, 1919. She married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Head, who predeceased her. They cherished each other for 68 years. Together they raised five children, Robert Head, Jr (Elizabeth), Carolyn Helquist (Ed), Charles Head (Linda), Marjorie Head, and Marie Wheeless who predeceased her. Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Todd or Atlanta; brother, Patrick Mallinson of New Orleans; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was an active volunteer in each church she attended: St. Matthews, Sacred Heart, and San Juan Del Rio. She was past president of the Third Order of Mary chapter at Sacred Heart Church and the Riverside Garden Club where she frequently participated in their flower shows, often receiving “Best in Show” awards. She was also an active participant in the meals on wheels program. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, always gracious and a true southern lady. Anne will be remembered for her beautiful silver hair, fine sense of humor, sweet nature and love of all things chocolate. The family is grateful for the professional and loving care she received from the staff of Westminster Woods and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Westminster Woods, 25 State Road 13, Saint Johns, FL 32259 or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd.
