Archie Gordon Bushman

BUSHMAN Gordon Bushman, 80, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2010. He was born on December 3, 1929 in New Richmond, Ohio to the late Arch and Gertrude Bushman. A long time resident of Jacksonville, Gordon was employed at BellSouth for 36 years, retiring as a manager. He is a veteran of the Korean War. Gordon used his love of music to serve God by being a minister of music at Biltmore Baptist Church, Woodstock Baptist Church, and Wesconnett Baptist Church. He later became a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church and served for several years in their choir. Gordon is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia E. Bushman and by 4 siblings: Virginia Corn, Claude Bushman, Carleton Bushman, and Frank Bushman. He is survived by 2 daughters, Sheri Mason (Robert) and Kristina Oliver (Dwight); 1 son, Timothy Bushman; 4 grandchildren, Jessica, Gordon, Savannah, and Stephanie; 1 great-grandchild, Callie. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Carolyn Weeks and Marjorie Reynolds. The visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 from 6 - 8 at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32205. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10 am at Deermeadows Baptist Church on Baymeadows Rd.
