

Barbara Louise Allen was taken back home peacefully to her Lord and Savior to join those who proceeded her on April 23, 2022. Before she passed she was surrounded by friends and family. She was 88 years young.
Barbara Allen was born in Sanford, Florida on August 20, 1933. Barbara lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida where she carried on the tradition of her mother, Elise Allen’s business. The Allen’s Children Center became a huge part of Barbara’s life. She learned to become a successful business women while enriching the life’s of children for many generations. She absolutely loved to travel and traveled to countless different countries. Barbara Allen was truly one of a kind. She was a sister, mother, aunt , grandmother, great- grandmother, but most importantly a best friend. She was also a child of God. She gave faith to all those around her. For those who know her best she was the hammer when a bolder was in the way, a light when all was dark and faith when you lost all hope. She could make you forget your all of troubles with one good laugh.
Graveside service was held on April 29th 2022 at 11:00 am at Oaklawn Cemetery, officiated by Father Raja from Jerusalem Episcopalian Church. Eulogy given by Denise and Ron Allen.
Barbara Allen was survived by her brother Charles Allen, (w) Liv Allen. Her son William Ogburn. 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many close friends.
Barbara’s family would like those that knew her to share memories of all of the good times that they had with her. In one of the last letters Barbara shared with her granddaughter Bobbie Ann, a vision that God gave her mother when she was on one of life’s dark paths . She said she was in prayer and a voice said “I never promised you a walk through life with no rocky paths but I did put the roses along the path just to remind you that I am with you all the way." As in Matthew 28:20 "and behold I am with you always even to the ends of the earth." As her Barbara reminded her to please always choose the rose path.
