

Barbara was born on July 22, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York to Frederick and Kathleen Olsen.
In May 1966, Barbara married George F. Breuer with whom she enjoyed 52 years of marriage. They were blessed with four children and nine precious grandchildren. Nothing meant more to her than her family. She was very active in her children’s lives and their community. Barbara wore many hats including fire & rescue mom, lacrosse, baseball and cheer mom, co-founder of local Project Graduation, storytelling grammy, caregiver, protector, confidant and friend. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She is notorious for her multiple themed Christmas trees and hundreds of Santas displayed around the house. Barbara loved gathering friends and family together. Christmas ornament exchanges, Super Bowls, engagements, whatever the occasion... She always threw a good party! She loved to travel and cruise the high seas with her husband. Together they traveled the world making fond memories along the way.
Barbara is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Grace Doveala.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, George of Saint Augustine, Florida; sons, Gary and his wife, Laura of Lambertville, NJ, Matthew and his wife, Julie of Jacksonville, FL, Kevin and his wife, Kathleen of Flemington, NJ; daughter, Karen Breuer of Saint Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Alexandra, Sean, James, Luke, Cole, Jake, Thomas, Cody and Danielle; brother-in-law, Robert Doveala of St. James, NY; nephew, Christopher Doveala and his wife, Liz and daughters, Emily and Jane-e of Smithtown, NY; and cousin, Louise Krone of Jacksonville, FL. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her loving family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13 from 3-7 pm with prayer service at 4 pm in Hardage Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 14 at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Historic Catholic Church, 4214 Loretto Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32223.
