Betty Jean Downs (formally Clarke), 71, lovingly known by her many friends as BJ, passed on February 1, 2011. Born in Danville, Viriginia, she was a sharecropper's daughter that did well for herself. Survived by her husband Gale Downs, daughter Susan (Aaron) Aldrich, granddaughter Sarah Aldrich, and son, Dwayne Will Clarke. Retired from NADEP she was a member of the ladies auxiliary of FRA 91, VFW 5968 and women of the Moose 1495. Interment will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
