PALMER- Betty Jane (Youngblood) Palmer, 88, passed away December 5, 2011. Originally from Pavo, Georgia, she lived in Jacksonville since 1951. She retired after many years from F.W. Woolworth and also worked for J.C. Penney. She was a member of Spring Glen United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her devoted husband of 66 years. She leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Harold (Harry) Palmer. She was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Nell (Hardwick) Youngblood from Pavo, GA. Betty graduated from Pavo High School. She and her husband were married in Columbus, GA on April 20, 1946 where her parents resided and also where she worked as a beauty operator. Survivors include her three daughters, Diane Midgett, Susan P. Trotman, and Donna M. Smith; five grandchildren, Kimberley Arambula, Robert and Christopher Smith, Michael Burke, Henry (Hank) Williams, III (deceased), and eight great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Caitlin, Chelsea, Cody Arambula, Skylar Smith, Sharyn Smith, Ward and Charlie Burke.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd.
