RODGERS - Betty Fay Higginbotham Rodgers, 77, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018. She was born October 25, 1940 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Reese and Bertha (Stover) Higginbotham. Mrs. Rodgers had retired from Flowers Baking Company of Jacksonville and was a member of Garden City United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her seven siblings, Iney Hyman, Doris Dressback, Gladys Schneiter, Florence Soba, Rosa Lee Thien, Billy Higginbotham, Bobby Higginbotham, Paul Higginbotham and Beulah Higginbotham. Survivors include her son, Ricky Rodgers; numerous nieces and nephews; many other loving family and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, July 23, at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 24, at Edgewood Cemetery, 4519 Edgewood Drive, with Rev. Alan Patz officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to the Northeast Florida Food Bank.
