Beverly Jane Fleming

Beverly Jane Fleming, 69 years old, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on May 23, 2016. Beverly was a beloved resident of St. Johns County and very active in her community. She was a Master Gardner, a writer of nature articles for The St. Augustine Record and Outdoors, and retired from St. Johns County as a Park Naturalist. Beverly was also a member of numerous environmental organizations including the Mandarin Garden Club, Switzerland Garden Club, St. Augustine Garden Club, Audubon Society of Jacksonville, St. Johns Riverkeeper, Bartram Scenic Highway, Friends of Alpine Groves, Florida Native Plant Society of St. Augustine, and the Environmental Education Resource Counsel of Northeast Florida. Beverly was also an instructor at the Agricultural Extension Center and the Florida Master Naturalist Program at the University of North Florida. She was a recipient of the Stetson Kennedy Foundation’s Fellow Man and Mother Earth Award in 2015 and implemented the Kindergarten Butterfly Program in St. Johns County Public Schools. Beverly is preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Dale Fleming. She is survived by her children Earl Scott, Becky Scott, Robert Fleming (Cathy), Kitty Wilmoth, Katherine Rash (John), Dave Fleming (Suzette) and survived by a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin on Friday May, 27 2016 at 2:00 pm.
