

Billy passed away peacefully on September 21, 2011 at home surrounded by his family.
Billy was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 30, 1929. He proudly served his country for twenty two years. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1967 and later from Baptist Medical Center. During his years of dedicated service, Billy was awarded the Good Conduct Medal with five Bronze Loops, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, among many others,
He was a member of the Arlington Baptist Church.
Billy Fuqua is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lois Fuqua. One daughter Tammy D. Maloney, one granddaughter, Shannon M. Maloney, and a very special person in his life Ms. Mary Condorodis.
Visitation will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, September 25, 2011 with funeral services beginning at 4:00pm, in The Hardage-Giddens Hendricks chapel with . Interment with full military honors will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road at 11:30am on Monday, September 26, 2011. Memorial donations in Billy’s name may be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society www.jaxhumane.org are greatly appreciated.
