Billy Gene Kelley

BILLY G. KELLEY, age 78, died March 25th, 2016 after a long battle with illness. Preceded in death: two sons, John Robert & Barry Gregory (“Shorty”) Kelley. Mr. Kelley spent his life in the grocery business. Survivors are his wife of 60 years Lurece Pate Kelley, son Kelvin Kelley (Charlotte), grandsons Bobby Kelley (Jon), Adam Kelley (May), Brian Kelley (Leah), Zachary Kelley, granddaughters Samantha Gates, Jessica Kelley, great-granddaughters Faith Whidden, Cheyenne Gates, and Debbie Wightman, former spouse of Kelvin.

His family has lived in Jacksonville 45 years. He spent 22 years with Colonial Stores & Big Star Stores. Starting as a bagger, he worked his way to district manager over 11 stores in Jacksonville. His family spent 20 years working in their own Kelley’s IGA stores.

We would like to thank Vitas Hospice Home Healthcare for ensuring his remaining time at home was comfortable. Arrangements entrusted to Hardage Giddens 5753 Blanding Blvd. Jax. Fl 32244, where a visitation will be held Wednesday March 30 from 11am – noon, followed by a grave side service at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, Orang Park Fl. At 12:30 pm.
