

Carolyn Mae Owens (Bizzell Schupolsky) passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 after her thirteen-year journey with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. She was born on July 11, 1935 and raised in Allapattah, Florida. Carolyn was the oldest child of her parents Catherine Harris and Jerry Bizzell. She had two younger siblings, Jerry Bizzell and Judith Tenpenny. Carolyn married her high school sweetheart William George Schupolsky and had two children, Sherry and James (Jim). After losing her first love at the age of 35, Carolyn remarried years later. Carolyn and her second husband Olney Otis Owens lived in DeLand, Florida for twenty years before his passing in 1994. Carolyn thoroughly enjoyed her career with Walmart as a cashier in DeLand for over nineteen years. She deeply enjoyed spending quality time with her family and close Walmart friends. The bond she shared with both her children and her grandchildren was undeniable and of deep dedication. Carolyn loved nature and was especially fond of birds of all kinds. She had raised birds for years with her husband Oley and had a natural way with most animals. In more recent years she worked diligently at spoiling her cat Midnight. Carolyn was known for being a strong woman and a fighter even up to her final days. She made an impression on everyone she met. For the last two years Carolyn received expert care at The Terrace of Jacksonville. Her roommate Tammy Smith formed a very precious and protective bond with Carolyn and her family. Carolyn is survived by her daughter Sherry Pikulski, son-in-law Joseph Pikulski, grandchildren Justin Pikulski and Alena Pikulski Cravey (husband Randall Cravey) and her sister Judith Tenpenny in Lakeland, Florida. Carolyn was called Home by The Lord to have eternal peace and to be reunited with her parents, brother, husbands and her only son.
