Charlie Ray Williams, 64, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on July 30, 1953 in Berea, Ohio. Charlie married his high school sweetheart, Delores Illeen Akers, on September 29, 1971. Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Carl Ray and Peggy Williams, and his sister, Susan Williams.
Charlie had a passion for working on motorcycles and Dodge trucks. He also enjoyed playing softball and hunting. He also loved spending time with his family, and his children and grandchildren were his joy. Charlie was dearly loved by his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Delores I. Williams, his daughter, Stephanie Selph, his son, Thomas Williams, his sisters, Linda (Danny) Roten of Yulee, FL, Dreama (Kate Stoneburner) Smith of Asheville, NC, and Sherri Messick of Jacksonville, FL, and his brothers, Richard (Gail) Williams of Lexington, NC, David (Lisa) Williams of Tacoma, WA, and Terry “George” Williams of Yulee, FL. He also leaves to cherish his memory three grandsons, Denton (Katelyn) Smith, Tyler Curry and Aiden Williams, four granddaughters, Rebecca Santos, Crystalyn Selph, Ashley Williams and Hailey Williams, and two great grandsons, Nolan Smith and Ellison Smith.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Greenlawn Chapel, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00am at Greenlawn Chapel, followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.
