

Clyde Banks Simpson (April 10,1949- November 29, 2016)
Banks grew up in Jacksonville, FL, son of Clyde W. Simpson and Anne B. Grace. He excelled in school making high marks at Fishweir Elementary ,Lakeshore Middle School and Lee High school. In 1963 he was awarded Eagle Scout. He graduated from the University of Florida and was a true Gator fan for life.
After college Banks became a successful Realtor and property developer in Orange Park. In the 80's he acted in local theater productions and
In the early 90's he moved to Breckinridge, CO, and built a travel business focused on skiing the Rocky Mountains and fishing in the Florida Keys.
Colorado was home for 20 years; where he skied all winter and moved South to fish all summer. He was a risk taker, a great friend to many, a Christian believer who enjoyed adventures. He moved back to Florida in 2012 to be close to family and longtime friends, allowing him time to help his elderly parents.
Banks was an energetic sportsman: golf, skiing, diving, boating, fishing and hunting. He lived on the edge, taking risks with high adventures like helicopter skiing in the Canadian Rockies and spear fishing in the Florida Keys. Challenges to repair or renovate projects were invigorating to him. He was a fantastic gourmet cook especially with seafood.
Banks will be greatly missed and always remembered as a man's man.
Banks is predeceased by his brother Rae Simpson, stepbrother Dean Grace, father Clyde Simpson and stepfather Forbes Grace.
He leaves his mother Anne Grace; Aunt Tish Frockt; sister & brother-in-law Amy and Jim Dyson; stepsisters & brothers-in-law Mary and Bill Hart, Mona and Bland Cologne; 2 nephews; many loving cousins and close friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 11th , 2:00 pm at the Ortega River Club, 4165 Lakeside Dr., Jacksonville, FL 32210. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to a Christian charity of your choice or Florida fish and wildlife restoration projects.
