

Colleen moved to Jacksonville in 1954 after graduating from Blackshear High School and soon met Buddy, her late husband of 63 years. After 13 years in Jacksonville, they moved to Hollywood, FL for the next 25 years (1967-1991), where she was a medical secretary at Memorial Hospital and real estate broker. Her life was marked by loving her husband and family well. In 1991, she moved to Boca Raton, FL for the next 26 years (1991-2017). Known as “Nana” to the grandkids, she was always down for anything fun. She traveled near and far to support the favorite activities and school events of her 8 grandchildren. Colleen was an active member of Boca Raton Community Church and The Boca New Club. She loved cooking, traveling, playing bridge, walking, attending bible studies, and baking her southern pound cake and pecan pies. She and Buddy enjoyed spending time and hosting family and friends at two vacation homes in Lake Placid, FL and Jacksonville, FL. In 2017, Colleen and Buddy moved to John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, FL.
Colleen will be dearly missed by her two children Michael (Pam) Wiggins of Coral Springs, FL and Michelle (John) Watt of Jacksonville, FL ; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren with one on the way, and many nieces and nephews in Blackshear, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in honor of Colleen and her predeceased granddaughter (Lindsay) to Angelwood, which provides services to those with disabilities, at PO Box 24925 Jacksonville, FL 32241 or online at angelwoodjax.org.
