

Connor Jordan Dzion, 18, of Jacksonville, Florida entered the gates of Heaven on September 4, 2017 due to a tragic car accident. Connor, a 2017 magna cum laude graduate of Creekside High School, lettered in varsity golf all four years. He was a student at the University of North Florida, pursuing a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. He was a member of the North Florida Junior Golf Foundation and the North Florida Professional Golf Association Junior Tour. He collected many tournament wins throughout his time on tour. He was also a valued employee at The Slammer and Squire golf course. Known by many as “Peanut”, he touched the hearts of everyone he knew with his keen sense of humor and quick wit. Exactly one year before the accident, he dedicated his life to Christ. Connor is survived by his parents Mellissa (Hendrix) and David Dzion, brother Colin Dzion, Jessica Dzion (wife of David), Thomas Hammond (boyfriend of Mellissa), grandparents Janice Hendrix, Michael and Dolores Dzion, girlfriend Tori Carpenter, brother’s girlfriend Alexis Mickey, and his beloved boxer Cali. He was predeceased by his grandfather Bobby Hendrix. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations are made in Connor’s name to the North Florida Junior Golf Foundation via the link on their website www.nfjg.org. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, September 15, 2017 and from 10am to 11am on Saturday, September 16, 2017 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 16, 2017 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, followed by interment in Oaklawn Cemetery 4801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207. Connor’s family will host a casual celebration of his life at the Slammer & Squire Golf Course September 17, 2017, 1pm to 4pm. Please bring a copy of your favorite picture of Connor to leave with them.
