David spent his lifetime perusing his passion and commitment to Judaism. Professionally David served as a Cantor to several congregations most recently with Agudath Bnai Israel Synagogue in Lorain, Oh and Temple Am Shalom in Mentor, OH. David also served the Jewish Community most recently in his role as Ritual Director at the Jacksonville Jewish Center and previously at Park Synagogue in Cleveland Heights, OH. David loved nothing more than being a Jewish educator, providing pastoral care and support to his congregants, his community and celebrating his faith through his music.
David is preceded in death by his parents Harold (aka Sonny) Wolinsky, and Tina Wolinsky (nee Blumert). David is survived by two beautiful daughters Shaina Wolinsky and Emma Wolinsky and his sister, Maya Herscowitz of Akron. They will remember David most fondly for his love of music, animals and the Jewish Community to which he served. The family is grateful for the support and kindness shown to David by the members and staff of the Jacksonville Jewish Center and the generosity of Rabbi Jonathan Lubliner.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 2pm at Chesterland Memorial Park. 11521 Chillicothe Road Chesterland, OH. Services will be conducted by David’s dear friend and colleague Hazan Bruce Braun. The family invites those who wish to celebrate the memories of David’s life back to their home immediately following services and until 8pm that evening.
