She was born to Samuel and Agnes Eagerton on November 12, 1955 in Oxford, England. Dellafay met the love of her life and soul mate, Tony, while attending R.B. Stall High School in Charleston, SC, year of 1973. Dellafay often described meeting Tony as the best day of her life and her greatest achievement. Married for 48 years, they had four children that have blessed them with nine grandchildren and one more on the way. Dellafay went on to graduate with a bachelors in business administration and an MBA from Jacksonville University. After many years, she retired from her fulfilling career as a human resource professional.
As a true southern belle, Dellafay would never be found without her favorite accessories, and a big glass of sweet tea (ice filled to the top). Dellafay never met a stranger and took in anyone that needed someone to show them love, both four legged and two. To everyone that knew Dellafay, they know she loved life and always had a story to share. Her intoxicating smile and vibrant laugh could brighten even the biggest of rooms. Her laugh is what we will miss most of all. Most weekends, Dellafay could be found at the baseball park cheering on her grandchildren, piddling in her garden, visiting with family and friends, or spoiling her grandchildren.
Dellafay's legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched. Her unwavering love, boundless generosity, and infectious joy will be remembered and celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we say goodbye to our beloved Dellafay, we hold onto the memories and lessons she imparted, cherishing the moments we shared and striving to honor her spirit in our daily lives.
Dellafay is survived by her husband, three brothers, children, and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at East Pointe Church, 270 Kernan Blvd. N. Jacksonville.
