

On Sunday, July 14, 2013 Donna Fleenor Lanahan, of Jacksonville, Florida, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, John Barton Lanahan, daughter, Michelle Feltel and her husband Gil and three grandchildren - Rutledge, Sarah Kate and Whit. Donna is also survived by her two sisters, Mackie Little of Lexington, SC and Sherrie Cross of Asheboro, NC and their respective families. Donna will also be greatly missed by her sisters and brothers-in-law of the Lanahan family - Dennis Lanahan, Michael and Mary Anne Lanahan, Patricia and John Corrigan, Teresa and Thebaut Dutton, and their families.
Donna was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and grew up in various cities, as her father was a Command Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army. After his retirement, the family settled in Lexington, NC. Donna later moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she happily remained throughout her life. The last fifteen years of her life Donna worked at Northeast Florida Endocrine and Diabetes Associates as a nurse. She loved the people who she worked alongside and the many patients she was blessed to care for over the years.
She was a most loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, friend and co-worker; beautiful inside and out, and generous in every way to everyone she knew and loved.
The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday evening from 6- 8:00, July 17th, at the Hardage-Giddens funeral home located at 4115 Hendricks Avenue followed by a private burial service on Thursday morning.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 on Thursday morning, July 18th at Christian Family Chapel, 10365 Old St Augustine Road. All are welcome to come and celebrate her life.
