

Doris Easson Stevens, beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away on January 24, 2018 at the age of 97. Doris was born in Arbroath, Scotland and came to the United States when she was 9 years old. She lived in Detroit, Michigan until 1955 when she and her husband Raymond moved their young family to Jacksonville. Devout Catholics, Doris and Ray were among the founding members of San Jose Catholic Church. Doris worked for Dr. Sam Witten until her retirement when she became a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald house for 10 years. She received their Earth Angel Award for Volunteer of the Year… it was one of her proudest moments.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and daughter, Judy Stevens. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Marshall and Janie Bartoe (Jim); grandsons, Jon Marshall and Joe Marshall (Maggie); granddaughter, Lesley Bartoe; 6 great-grandchildren; and nieces, Joyce Lawie and Moira Caird, both of Arbroath, Scotland. Her dear friends are too numerous to name.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor at San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Rd. in Jacksonville on Monday, January 29 at 1 pm. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville.
