

It is with great sadness that the family of Eberhard H Bahr announces his passing on Friday, January 24, 2020, at the age of 87. He was born October 20, 1932 in East Germany to Mr. Herbert Bahr and Mrs. Erna Schiemanski.
Survivors who cherish his memory are: his loving wife of 63 years, Margarete Bahr; his daughter, Laurie Kiddy (Mike); sister, Ilsa Ruhbaum; sister-in-laws, Ute Bahr and Anneliese Wende, daughter-in-law, Angela Bahr; nephews, Joseph Kish, Eric, Manfred and Uve Bahr; nieces, Pam Walker and Sonnja Settle; two grandchildren Kari Self (Brandon) and Evan Kiddy and five great-grandchildren, Damian, Dominick, Demetrius, Devan and Tabias.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Silvia Bahr; son, Gary Bahr; brother, Klaus Bahr; sister, Karen Kish and brother-in-laws, Joe Kish and Helmut Wende.
He immigrated to the U.S. through the Berlin Wall in 1959 and resided in New Jersey, Arkansas and lastly Florida with his daughter and family. Being a carpenter and high bridge builder by trade, he enjoyed many building projects. His hobbies included stamp/coin collecting, playing the harmonica, writing letters and growing vegetables in his garden. He loved history and story telling of growing up in Germany. The family is ever so grateful for all the caretakers that God placed in his and his wife's lives in the past year. He built a strong friendship with Bill Hudson, who was always there no matter the need.
The family is honoring him with a Celebration of Life for friends and family in their home on Feb 8 from 1-3.
