About 6 months ago I told  my wife Suzi about a dream.   Ed, Mike and me were riding in a a vintage white Mercedes coupe, top down and having  a good time.  I asked her if she had seen or heard anything about Mr Doherty.  I missed an opportunity to see this wonderful man once more.  My regrets and grief for the family cannot be expressed.  Ride on Ed.

Our hearts are filled with sorrow upon hearing the passing of Edward Doherty. Our sincere condolences to the grieving families, may the soul of your loved one rest in peace.

I was deeply saddened today by the news of Ed's passing.  I worked for him back in the early 80's as his executive assistant. I have great memories of those days and he truly made an impact on my life and on the lives around him.  He was  a wonderful boss and great friend. 

I hope and pray that you can take comfort in knowing how much he was loved by so many people and how he made such an impact on people's lives he touched.

I'd like to extend my sincere condolences to the entire Doherty family regarding Ed's passing.

    I always thought Ed was the perfect gentleman, as he was extremely classy, polite, charismatic  and very fun to be around . And for someone who had a good deal of professional success, he wasn't the least bit arrogant or  pretentious; which is both refreshing and rare (sadly) in today's world.                                
   Additionally, after my parents relocated to Jax  ,he(as well as the entire Doherty family) couldn't have been friendlier and more  wonderful to both of them throughout the years, and I  appreciate that immensely.

I met Ed and worked with him since 1993 at Atlantic Marine Shipyard Jacksonville.  Ed was a great Inspiration and Role Model for me. To his wife and children know that Ed will always be remembered for his kindness and leadership.  Ed was always a great friend to me.  He was a Blessing in my life. My family and I are Praying for Ed's Family.

Ed Doherty was the primary reason I applied for employment with Atlantic Marine.  I met Ed while working for Rodney Lay during Atlantic's casino boat era, he was the savy veteran of the industry and I was the wide eyed 'youngster', Ed was just a joy to be around, always genuine, always going out of his way to share a friendly word.  I had not seen or spoken with Ed in many years but he was a positive influence in my life and I will always be grateful having known him.

I remember Ed as a loving husband and father and a very good neighbor in Venetia.  To his wife and all the children I am so very sorry, but, also know that you were very blessed to have him in your life.

Very sad to hear of his passing, Mr Doherty was the boss and also a good friend. He always had a smile firm handshake and was interested in your story.  He helped me in my early career and gave sound advice. He was extremely well respected in the industry and when he spoke everyone listened.

Uncle Ed was the best and so energetic and always smiling. We will miss you and especially when all of us celebrate our annual Oyster Roast at Sally's house the day after Thanksgiving. I love you.

Condolences to the family. I worked with Ed from about 1997 to 2002 with Atlantic Marine in Jax and Alabama Shipyard in Mobile. He, without a doubt, was one of the finest people I have ever worked with and have known. I also considered him a friend. RIP and fair winds and following seas.
