Elizabeth P. Crosby

Elizabeth P. Crosby, (Nana), age 86, passed away October 27, 2011. She was born June 15, 1925 in Funston, GA to Walter Pitchford and Eva Whitfield Pitchford. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hiram Thomas Crosby, Jr., and 3 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by her three sons, Hiram Thomas Crosby III (Judy); Gary William Crosby; and Rodrick Scott Crosby; two grandchildren , Hiram Thomas Crosby IV and Tammy Elizabeth McEntee (Pete); two great-grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth McGee and Sean Kristopher McGee (Rachel); her great-great grandson, Weston Lynnwood McGee; two brothers, Hoyle Pitchford (Betty) and Harry Pitchford (Marie); and many nieces and nephews. She lived in Jacksonville since 1946. Mrs. Crosbys’ neighbors became friends in each place she lived, and she always cherished their friendship, especially the girls, Faye, Jeanie, Ruth, Margie, and CeCe. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 31st at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Rev. Charles Ragland of Fruit Cove Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Elizabeth to the Fruit Cove Baptist Church Building Fund.
