Elizabeth Blair Smith

Elizabeth B Smith, 94, a long-time resident of Jacksonville, passed away March 3, 2014. She was a member of Geneva Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Florida State College for Women where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She was also a member of Chapter H, PEO Sisterhood. Mrs. Smith worked for many years as a 5th grade teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude D. Smith in 1998, and their son, Dr. Douglas K. Smith of River Falls, WI, in 2001. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith lived at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek since April 1990. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday, March 6, in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. A Memorial Service will be held on March 7, 2014, at 12 noon in the Westminster Woods Auditorium, 25 State Road 13, followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery at 3:00 pm. Memorial gifts may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Jacksonville Humane Society, or the Westminster Woods Foundation.
