Ellis Franklin Touchton

Ellis F. Touchton left this world on September 22, 2015 at the age of 99. Mr. Touchton is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine, his parents, Hub and Gertie Touchton, and his siblings Frank and Walter Touchton, Lorraine Hurst, Natalie Grow and Betty Hoskins. His two surviving brothers are Bill Touchton and Lloyd Touchton both of Jacksonville, Florida. He is also survived by his five children and their spouses: Paul and Cheryl Touchton of Brentwood, TN; Ryan and Cheryl Touchton of Marietta, GA; Onita and Dickie Hill of Abilene, TX; Iris and David Jacobsen of Katy, TX; and Mary and Tommy Dyer of Fernandina Beach, FL. Additionally Mr. Touchton has 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.

Mr. Touchton spent most of his life working in the Dairy business. At the end of his career, he was VP of Sales for Skinner’s Dairy; however his real love was his family, his God and his friends. His life centered on serving God and his church. He served as a teacher, counselor and Elder at the Post St. Church of Christ. He loved music and sports and was an avid Atlanta Braves and Florida Gators fan.

While his first concern was always for his family, he will be remembered by hundreds as a mentor, teacher, and encourager who consistently displayed a positive can do approach to life. He believed that when you stop learning, you will start dying.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM at the Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207.

Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
