
Elmer Dale “Chief Running Wolf” Epley, 74, of Jacksonville passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the McGraw Center for Caring Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born October 31, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Elmer and Ruby Epley. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Kristopher Moses. He was U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam era and Korean Conflict. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Epley; daughters, Kimberly Donald (Ricky) and Dawn Niles (Frank) all of Jacksonville; sons, Blair Epley and David Epley both of Jacksonville; sisters, Marlene Roderick (Tom) of Lakeside, OR, Sharon Purdy (Larry) of Barstow, CA; grandchildren, Frankie Niles, Caleb Epley, Haleigh Niles, Evan Donald, Devin Epley, Jennifer Niles, Brianna Epley; 6 granchildren; and 1great-grandchild; daughters, Patti Epley of Rockville, MD, Debbie Graham, MD, Terri Epley of Rockville, MD.Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00pm Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Boulevard.Interment of cremated remains will be 11:30am, Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United States Navy.Flowers will be gratefully accepted; however, if you wish donations can be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.Online condolences may be made at: www.corey-kerlin.com.Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Boulevard, Jacksonville 904-744-8422.
